STORIES FROM THE STOOP

A boy’s life.
The Bronx.
1960’s.

“The collection, which reads like a combination of Frank McCourt’s Angela’s Ashes, but set in the Bronx, and Jack Kerouac’s On the Road . . . portrays the harsh realities of racism, street life, and living with a drunk dad, but also the joys of friendship, playing basketball well, and young love.”

Steve’s Bio

Most writers don’t have a master plumber’s license and a master’s degree. Steve Bernstein has both. Steve is a humane educator, special education teacher, animal rights activist and mentor to at-risk teens.

These days Steve writes. Mostly short stories about his life as well as story slams. More than anything, Steve loves to help young people find their voice and tell their stories.

No more plumbing. The knees. Enough said.

Still biking. Always.
